Robert attended Kings School Peterborough Grammar School and on leaving School he joined a well established family firm of Solicitors in Peterborough where he was articled and finally qualified in 1977 having taken all parts of the professional examinations, obtaining a distinction in constitutional and administrative law. On qualifying Robert worked as an Assistant Solicitor until September 1983 when he formed a Partnership with a colleague, Anthony Elsey, and practiced in partnership as Elsey & Hodson from premises in North Street, Peterborough, and branch offices at Kettering and Whittlesey. Robert became a sole Practitioner in 2010 following the retirement of his Partner. Robert continued practising as a sole practitioner until 2014 and since when he has worked as a Consultant Solicitor with the firm Taylor Rose TTKW undertaking residential and commercial conveyancing work until January 2018 when he joined the firm of Double & Megson undertaking non contentious work in the field of Lasting Powers of Attorney, Wills, Probate and residential and commercial conveyancing as well as conducting contentious probate matters and litigation matters in areas of property law such as disputes relating to boundaries, rights of way, easements and possessory titles.

Robert has since entering the profession engaged in all areas of a High Street practice including family law, personal injury and criminal law when he was on the Panel of Duty Solicitors. He has a broad knowledge of the areas that he has practised in including non contentious matters principally involving the making of Wills and the administration of Estates. Robert’s approach to his clients is a patient and understanding one being thorough and careful in the conduct of clients’ affairs. Robert has over 47 years experience in the profession and is able to draw on that experience when advising, assisting and acting for the clients.
